Imperial Metals has reported that metal production from the Red Chris and Mount Polley mines in British Columbia, Canada for the 2018 first quarter was 25.1 million pounds of copper and 24,495 ounces of gold.

Imperial Metals (TSX:III) has reported that metal production from the Red Chris and Mount Polley mines in British Columbia, Canada for the 2018 first quarter was 25.1 million pounds of copper and 24,495 ounces of gold.

As quoted in the press release:

Red Chris first quarter metal production was 19.72 million pounds copper and 12,215 ounces gold, an increase of 21 percent and 110 percent respectively from the 16.33 million pounds copper and 5,811 ounces gold produced in the March 2017 quarter. The mill achieved average throughput of 28,783 tonnes per calendar day for the March 2018 quarter.  First quarter metal recoveries were 77.22 percent copper and 47.37 percent gold, a decrease of 3 percent in copper recovery and increase of 27 percent in gold recovery from the comparable 2017 quarter.

Mount Polley metal production was 5.37 million pounds copper and 12,280 ounces gold, a slight decrease from the 5.46 million pounds copper and 13,811 ounces gold produced in the comparable 2017 quarter. The mill achieved average throughput of 17,917 tonnes per calendar day, and metal recoveries were 75.67 percent copper and 73.75 percent gold during the 2018 first quarter, an increase of 6 percent and 3 percent respectively for the comparable 2017 quarter.
