Zimbabwe Expects 16.9M Carats on Marange Diamond Production This Year

Reuters reported that the Zimbabwe government through its mining firm ZMDC, which operates 5 joint venture mines in its Marange fields, expects to double its 2012 diamond production of 8 million carats this year.

Diamond production is expected to reach 16.9 million carats this year, the paper said based on projections from ZMDC.
