The Globe and Mail reports that some dissenting views against the bidder’s execution are now being heard about the BHP Billiton Ltd.s’ bid for Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Ltd.
The Globe and Mail reports that some dissenting views against the bidder’s execution are now being heard about the BHP Billiton Ltd.s’ bid for Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Ltd.
The market news is quoted as saying:
“I think BHP made the government’s job very easy,” said Geoff Beattie, chief executive officer of Woodbridge Company Ltd., the Thomson family’s principal holding company.
The comment was made at a panel discussion put together by Torys LLP and they stem from what Mr. Beattie described as “sloppiness” and poor execution. He said the bidder didn’t understand the social issues, the government dilemma and did not work with Potash’s management.
