Japanese Coal Buyers Ink 2012 Deals with Australian Producers

Platts reported that most 2012 coal supply contracts between Australian producers and Japanese thermal coal consumers are settled.

Tokyo Electric Company, the so-called “champion” Japanese negotiator in the January 2012 talks, opted to link contract prices to the globalCOAL Newcastle index.
