Knick Exploration Completes Compiling of Gold Intervals for East-West Property
Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) announced it has completed the compilation of all gold intercepts to gold intervals as part of a major review of its 100-per-cent-owned East-West property located in Quebec.
Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) announced it has completed the compilation of all gold intercepts to gold intervals as part of a major review of its 100-per-cent-owned East-West property located in Quebec.
As quoted in the press release:
The East-West property, located along the Trans-Canada Highway of the Val d’Or-Malartic mining camp, Quebec, Canada is sandwiched between great neighbours, Osisko Royalties (TSX-T: OR)/Niogold Mining Corp. (TSX-V: NOX); Marban deposit, to the west and Wesdome Gold Mines (TSX-T:WDO); Kiena Mine complex; to the east.
As part of the ongoing research and in-depth review of Knick’s substantial database, which includes the company’s drilling and historical drilling, a comprehensive list of gold intervals on the East-West Property has been produced.
The list of gold intervals are in part comprised from 4 gold zones defining a corridor of mineralization identified in the field which shows the typical regional east-west axial trend commonly observed associated with the Marbenite Fault System. This “New Gold Corridor” is referred to as the “Marbranch”.
The Marbranch gold corridor review:
The Marbranch is host to the compilation intervals tabled below and includes the Raven, Gilbert, West and East gold zones. The corridor corresponds to Knick’s new interpretation of the Marbenite structural system which is indicated as branching across the East-West property as defined by drilling, trenching and geophysical surveys. See attached sketch.
This new gold corridor has been determined by, and is part of, the ongoing core review that lead to the discovery of 41.9 g/t Gold over 1.5 meter (Press Release Sept. 29, 2015). The structures and rock units have substantial strike length and in part make up a corridor that spans a width as much as 500 meters north-south and 1.7 km east-west across the property.
Highlights from the gold interval compilation list include:
From Knick’s 2009-2011 drilling:
- Hole EW-11-30: 3.00 g/t over 16 meters, incl. 10 g/t over 3.5 meters.
- Hole LEO-09-06: 3.10 g/t over 7.25 meters;
- Hole LEO-09-21: 5.10 g/t over 4.45 meters.
Historical drilling:
- Hole CD-84-10: 2.60 g/t over 17 meters
- Hole CD-19 : 4.40 g/t over 6.10 meters
Knick completed 71 holes totaling 12,864 meters of drilling in 2009 and 2011, of which 15 holes returned intervals of 2.0 g/t over 2.0 meter along core. The intercepts were predominately above 100 meters vertical depth.
The 199 historical holes totaling 41,148 meters were drilled in the eighties. The drilling results included 41 holes with interval grades of 2.0 g/t over 2.0 meter, down hole widths, some of which had multiple intersections of 2 g/t gold over 2meters. The intercepts were mainly above 100 meters vertical depth.
