Brazil’s Bovespa equity index rose 0.3% to 64,621.97, though its gain was limited in part by an 11% tumble in shares of consumer-goods conglomerate Hypermarcas after the company posted a sharp drop in first-quarter profit to 32.9 million reals ($20.3 million).
