Fitch: Amplats Plans Focus on South Africa’s Labor Issues

Mining Weekly reported that according to Fitch Ratings, Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) has laid out its far-reaching restructuring plans, which highlighted the labor challenges in South Africa in the platinum industry.

As quoted in the market news:

Amplats and the Department of Mineral Resources on Friday agreed to “engage positively” over the following 90 days to discuss the business review proposals and to determine how they can best work together to achieve their shared objective for the benefit of all stakeholders.
