Southern Copper Delays Tia Maria project in Peru to 2015

Base Metals Investing Reuters Africa reported that Southern Copper Corp. (NYSE:SCCO) will delay the commencement of its Tia Maria project in Peru to 2015 even after reporting an annual earnings of more than $2 billion.

As quoted in the market news:
The company said last week it was starting a new environmental impact study on the Tia Maria project, which had been expected to start producing 120,000 tonnes of the red metal per year in 2013.
