BHP Billiton iron ore production up 7%

Market Watch reports that mining giant BHP Billiton Ltd. (NYSE:BHP,ASX:BHP,NYSE:BBL,LSE:BLT) third-quarter iron ore production rose 7%.

The market news is quoted as saying,

BHP updated investors on performance for the three months to March 31, reported a 1% drop quarter-on-quarter in iron ore production.

Western Australian iron ore production met UBS forecasts quarter-on-quarter, the broker said, which it said was “impressive when measured against peer group.”
