Copper dropped 0.2 percent on the London Metal Exchange to hit $6,205 a tonne, according to Reuters. Overall however, the metal recovered some from hitting a three-week low of $6,194.

The drop coincides with increases in the dollar, which saw the biggest gains against the euro in four years. This makes the metal more expensive for buyers of other currencies.

Meanwhile, copper on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange is down 0.23 percent at $2.86 a pound, as noted by MarketWatch.
