Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) announced it has initiated a major review of its 100-per-cent-owned East-West property, located along the Trans-Canada Highway of the Val d’Or-Malartic mining camp, Quebec, Canada.
Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) announced it has initiated a major review of its 100-per-cent-owned East-West property, located along the Trans-Canada Highway of the Val d’Or-Malartic mining camp, Quebec, Canada.
As quoted in the press release:
Work in motion includes:
- Continued development and in-depth review of Knick’s major database including the company’s drilling and historical drilling. The data integration will lead to systematically establishing new sampling targets where the initial sampling had not covered particular altered rocks
- Re-sampling of existing drill holes (2009-2011 Drill campaigns) to aid in vectoring in gold mineralization. Review of the metallic sieve data to determine if a positive gold nugget effect in Knicks sampling to date.
- Geophysical re-interpretation taking into account various factors such as alteration and vectored gold mineralization.
- Major review of the local geology in light of both Osisko Royalties proposed open pit-able resource development and Wesdome’s, Kiena Mines, in order to verify key geological structures an continuity.
- Ongoing research into an area covered by an elliptical shaped magnetic anomaly located in the northeast part of the property which potentially represents a plug (an intrusive body of rock associated with gold deposit in the Val d’Or mining camp).
- Publication of an updated version of the East-West 43-101 report this fall, aiming for an Option or Joint Venture on the property.
Knick Exploration President and CEO, Jacques Brunelle, stated:
The East-West Property has yet to be drill tested below 200m vertical depth and the work in progress will lead to new drill targets near surface and at depth. Considering this financially slow difficult period for the exploration industry Knick is pleased to be able to use the time to re-assess the company’s key property assets.
