Two dozen Canadian women, several of them teenagers, have died while taking controversial birth control pills YAZ or Yasmin, Health Canada records reveal.

The deaths are among hundreds of “adverse reaction reports” filed on the Health Canada website searchable database. Among those who died while taking the birth control pills were two 14-year-olds, two 15-year-olds and two 18-year-olds.

Fifteen of the deaths carried Yasmin as a “suspected” product and nine were linked to YAZ.
