Lithium Australia (ASX:LIT) has given a vote of confidence to the Electra Joint Venture, in Sonora County, Mexico. LIT has increased its equity to 49% (Alix Resources, TSX:V AIX), as announced to the ASX on 23 March 2017.
The equity increase results from LIT continuing to elect to sole fund the JV. Recent metallurgical testing suggests there is good potential to develop simple beneficiation strategies to recover the lithium bearing components from the “clay” deposits which lie adjacent to Bacanora’s giant Sonora project.
LIT believes the generation of a higher grade feed through beneficiation is the key to commercial success at Electra.
Meanwhile, in Germany, LIT is completing formalities with partner Tin International (a subsidiary of German listed Deutsche Rohstoff AG) to evaluate the Sadisdorf deposit, an historic tin producer with pervasive lithium mineralisation.
