    Bloomberg reported that demand for coal from the US dropped slightly this past week.

    Bloomberg reported that demand for coal from the US dropped slightly this past week.

    The market news is quoted as saying:

    Western power-plant use rose 3.9 percent while consumption in the East slid 1 percent, the data provider said. Overall coal demand was down 5 percent from a year earlier.
