Aviva to Appeal EPA Decision on Central West Coal Project

Industrial MetalsMining Weekly reported that Aviva Corporation Ltd. (ASX:AVA) said it would lodge an appeal with the Appeals Convenor after the Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) found that the proposed Central West coal project was environmentally unacceptable.

Aviva owns the information and development approvals for Coolimba, which is a proposed 400 MW coal and 360 MW gas-fired base-load power station in the Mid West region. The power project itself has previously secured EPA approval.
