The spot price of uranium slipped to about $57/pound U308, with both buyers and sellers reluctant to enter into deals of any significant volumes, traders said.
The analysts also said the price continues to be under downward pressure given the unsettled nature of the market in the wake of the accident at Japan’s Fukushima 1 nuclear plant. The next deal is most likely to occur at a price slightly below $57/lb, the analysts said, with one warning that if an aggressive buyer began looking for 300,000 lb or more, the price could likely move well above that level.
