Energia Releases High-grade Drill Results from Gorno Zinc Project
Energia Minerals Ltd. (ASX:EMX) announced that it’s set to release a maiden JORC resource estimate for its Italy-based Gorno zinc project in Q1 2016. The company also announced further drill results from the project.
Energia Minerals Ltd. (ASX:EMX) announced that it’s set to release a maiden JORC resource estimate for its Italy-based Gorno zinc project in Q1 2016. The company also announced further drill results from the project.
As quoted in the press release:
To date the drilling program is confirming the grade and tonnage expectations of the Company’s Exploration Target of 3-5Mt grading between 7% and 10% Zn+Pb.
The latest hits, of 6.1m grading 9.1% Zn, 2.3% Pb and 24g/t Ag from 6.6m including 3.0m grading 15.7% Zn, 3.8% Pb and 39g/t Ag from diamond drill hole GDD011, as well as holes GDD025, GDD026 and GDD027 – for which assays are expected by the end of October – continue to reinforce the exceptional grade and continuity of the Zorzone Zinc Deposit.
In another significant development for Gorno, diamond drill hole GDD024, drilled well to the east of the main Zorzone mineralisation, encountered approximately 13 metres of very high grade material within the same stratigraphic unit (Metallifero) as the mineralisation at Zorzone. This will be followed up as a matter of priority to establish the true thickness and extent of this mineralisation.
Another recently drilled hole, GDD022, intersected a strongly mineralised zone approximately 50 metres to the north-west of GDD018. No assay results are yet available for GDD022 but visually the intersection is significantly larger (approximately 6 metres) at a similar grade.
Both GDD022 and GDD024 have increased the potential strike length of Zorzone substantially to more than 500 metres in this part of the deposit. This compares with a strike length of 200 metres envisaged in the estimation of the Exploration Target.
Kim Robinson, managing director of Energia, commented:
All of the work to date has either confirmed or exceeded our expectations, providing strong support for the previously published Exploration Target and putting us in a great position to complete our maiden resource estimate by early next year.
That in turn will provide the foundation for us to move ahead with the next stage of our development plans – a Scoping Study leading to production towards the end of 2017.
