BMO Global Metals and Mining Conference Kicks Off With Presentations From Freeport McMoRan, Barrick, Goldcorp
Monday marked the first day of the annual BMO Capital Markets Metals and Mining Conference in Hollywood, Florida.
Monday marked the first day of the annual BMO Capital Markets Metals and Mining Conference in Hollywood, Florida. The event kicked off with presentations from Freeport McMoRan (NYSE:FCX), Barrick Gold (TSX:ABX) and Goldcorp (TSX:G).
Certainly, it’s been a tough time for the mining industry lately. Still, Andrew Kaip, managing director of mining and equity research at BMO, was optimistic.
“While the current market environment is challenging, we all know that the sector is cyclical,” he said in a statement. “This is absolutely the time to be looking at the space.”
Certainly, things looked positive for attendees on the first day of the conference:
