Investor Insight
As it advances its portfolio of gold assets in Western Australia’s prolific Pilbara gold province and New Zealand’s Otago Schist Belt, New Age Exploration presents a compelling investor value proposition, supported by a lean, discovery-driven strategy and an experienced technical team.
Overview
New Age Exploration (ASX:NAE) is building a pure-play gold exploration story centered on high-quality assets in tier-one jurisdictions in Western Australia and New Zealand. The company’s clear strategy is to operate in geological corridors already proven by major discoveries, while applying modern, cost-effective exploration techniques to define new zones of mineralization.

In Western Australia, the company’s Wagyu gold project is directly along strike from De Grey Mining’s Hemi gold deposit – now owned by Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST). In New Zealand, its projects - Lammerlaw and Otago Pioneer Quartz – lie within the same regional structure that hosts OceanaGold’s (TSE:OGC) 5 Moz Macraes deposit and Santana Minerals’ (ASX:SMI) rapidly growing Rise & Shine system.
With gold prices hovering at all-time highs, NAE’s approach favours technology-led targeting, rather than brute-force drilling campaigns, by using geophysics, geochemistry and passive seismic to zero in on structurally controlled gold systems with potential for scale.
All its projects are supported by local technical teams and seasoned exploration leadership, allowing concurrent progress and capital-efficient deployment. Recent programs at Wagyu and Lammerlaw have confirmed early-stage discoveries, and both assets are advancing through their next stages of drilling and target definition.
Company Highlights
- Pilbara and Otago Exposure: Strategic landholdings in two world-class gold regions – Pilbara (WA) and Otago (NZ) – offering dual discovery potential.
- Hemi-style Intrusion Targets: The Wagyu Gold Project shares geological features and proximity with Northern Star’s 11.2 Moz Hemi discovery, increasing the likelihood of a major find.
- High-grade Gold Intercepts: Reverse circulation (RC) drilling has delivered standout assays including 8 m @ 5.0 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 4 m @ 2.5 g/t gold, confirming strong gold mineralisation over broad zones.
- New Zealand Discovery Pipeline: Lammerlaw project in Otago has confirmed Macraes-style shear-hosted gold with intersections up to 6 m @ 0.65 g/t gold, accompanied by elevated tungsten and arsenic.
- Active Exploration Growth: AU$3.75 million capital raise (October 2025) has funded multi-phase drilling programs in both jurisdictions.
Key Projects
Wagyu Gold Project
The Wagyu gold project is New Age Exploration’s flagship asset, located in the highly prospective Central Pilbara region of Western Australia. The project lies within the Mallina Basin, just 5 kilometres west of Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) 11.2-Moz Hemi gold deposit, within the same mineralised corridor that also hosts the Mt Berghaus and Calvert deposits.

NAE’s Wagyu gold project is central to its Central Pilbara gold and lithium Projects
NAE holds 100 percent of the mineral rights to Exploration Licence E47/2974, secured under a minerals rights agreement with Holcim (Australia). Since acquisition in 2024, the company has undertaken a comprehensive exploration program combining geophysics, soil sampling and multiple phases of drilling to test for Hemi-style intrusive-hosted gold mineralisation.
Early aircore drilling (2024) identified a broad, kilometre-scale gold anomaly linking several gravity targets, while reverse circulation (RC) drilling completed in March-April 2025 returned multiple high-grade intercepts, including:
- 8 m @ 5.0 g/t gold from 44 m, including 1 m @ 28.6 g/t gold
- 4 m @ 2.5 g/t gold from 76 m
- 3 m @ 2.8 g/t gold from 41 m
- 12 m @ 1.0 g/t gold from 12 m
Subsequent petrographic and XRD analysis confirmed the presence of quartz diorite intrusives with strong sericite–chlorite–dolomite alteration, the same host rock sequence that carries gold mineralisation at Hemi. In addition, a geochemical review by Sugden Geoscience validated a strong gold–arsenic–sericite association, further reinforcing the project’s intrusion-related gold model.
Building on this success, NAE commenced a fully permitted 4,000-metre RC drilling program in November 2025, designed to extend known mineralisation at Targets 1, 6 and 10, and to test new gravity anomalies at Target 11. This program is funded by the company’s AU$3.75 million capital raising completed in October 2025, and is expected to deliver significant news flow through late 2025 and early 2026.
With its proximity to Hemi, confirmed “Hemi-style” geology, and growing pipeline of high-priority targets, Wagyu is a highly leveraged discovery opportunity in one of Australia’s most active gold belts.
Lammerlaw Gold and Antimony Project

The Lammerlaw permit occurs in the southern limb of a regional fold feature characterised by a change in metamorphic grade from upper greenschist (purple) to lower greenschist (green). At Macraes, mineralisation occurs in shear zone features truncated by structures controlling the change in metamorphic grade.
The Lammerlaw gold and antimony project lies within the Otago Schist Belt on New Zealand’s South Island, the same regional structure that hosts the 5-Moz Macraes gold mine operated by OceanaGold (TSE:OGC). The project covers 74.8 sq km under Exploration Permit EP60807, encompassing historic hard rock workings and extensive alluvial goldfields dating back to the late 1800s.
NAE’s maiden RC drilling program (April-May 2025) confirmed the presence of shear-hosted gold mineralisation consistent with Macraes-style systems. Key results included:
- 6 m @ 0.65 g/t gold from 92 m, including 2 m @ 1.05 g/t gold, with elevated 1,750 parts per million (ppm) tungsten and 680 ppm arsenic
- Additional gold-bearing intervals ranging 0.1 to 0.4 g/t gold across multiple holes, coincident with arsenic and tungsten pathfinders
These results confirm that mineralisation at Lammerlaw is controlled by shear zones in deformed pelitic schists and follows the same structural and geochemical patterns seen at Macraes. Follow-up drilling is planned to test along-strike continuity and untested targets within an 8 km-long mineralised corridor identified by soil geochemistry and mapping.
The project also benefits from the recent granting of Exploration Permit EP61110 (Waipori), expanding NAE’s footprint along the southern limb of the Otago antiform. Together, Lammerlaw and Waipori offer a compelling dual-gold and critical elements (antimony and tungsten) exploration opportunity in one of New Zealand’s most productive and underexplored gold belts.
Otago Pioneer Quartz Project

Overview of prospects locations within the OPQ Gold Exploration Project.
The Otago Pioneer Quartz (OPQ) project is in Central Otago within the historic Gabriel’s Gully gold district, the epicenter of the 1860s Otago gold rush. The project lies within the same regional schist belt that hosts OceanaGold’s Macraes operation. NAE acquired the OPQ tenement to secure additional exposure to high-grade shear-hosted and orogenic gold systems in the Otago region. The area is characterized by low-sulphide gold quartz veins associated with greenschist facies metamorphic rocks and late-stage brittle faulting.
While still early-stage, the company has conducted preliminary soil sampling and mapping across the tenement to delineate mineralized structures. Historical records suggest significant past production from alluvial and hard-rock sources, though modern exploration has been minimal. Given its proximity to known gold-bearing shear zones and favourable host rocks, OPQ remains a high-priority, low-cost exploration asset for future campaigns.
