5 Top NASDAQ Tech Stocks: Web.com Group Makes Gains to Lead
This week’s NASDAQ top gainer in the Computer Software & Processing sector was Web.com Group, followed by NVIDIA, Lionbridge Technologies, Cogent Communications Holdings and Computer Task Group.
The NASDAQ Technology Sector (INDEXNASDAQ:NDXT) had a mixed week and was down 0.02 percent to end the week at 2,875.96 points by market close on Friday.
Some stability followed the volatility from the US elections where Donald Trump surprisingly clinched the coveted seat for US president. Indeed, since the win, tech stocks have hardly moved – until December 1, when they plunged. According to TechCrunch, Trump will not be a friend to the tech world.
Despite remaining uncertainty surrounding the Trump presidency, here are last week’s top NASDAQ tech stocks in the computer software and processing industry:
- Web.com Group (NASDAQ:WEB)
- NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA)
- Lionbridge Technologies (NASDAQ:LIOX)
- Cogent Communications Holdings (NASDAQ:CCOI)
- Computer Task Group (NASDAQ:CTG)
Here is a closer look at last week’s top gainers:
Web.com Group
Web.com Group provides internet services for small businesses. They have a market cap of just over $1 billion. They recently reported their “solid” third quarter 2016 financial results, seeing total revenue of $190.7 million.
Shares of Web.com Group gained 14.37 percent over the five-day trading period, and ended the week at $19.90 per share.
NVIDIA
Nvidia is a recent top performer so is becoming a regular on this list. They are a computer hardware maker and recently reported a record revenue of $2.00 billion and a record GAAP EPS of $0.83.
Shares of Nvidia gained 9.14 percent over the five-day trading period, and ended the week at $100.21 per share.
Lionbridge Technologies
Lionbridge Technologies is a provider of globalization solutions. The company provides translation, online marketing, global content management and application testing solutions that ensure local relevancy, global brand consistency and technical usability by operating in three segments: Global Language and Content (GLC), Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) and Interpretation Services. They recently announced they are to be acquired by H.I.G. Capital.
Shares of Lionbridge Technologies gained 5.39 percent over the five-day trading period, and ended the week at $5.87 per share. Year-to-date the stock has gained 19.55 percent.
Cogent Communications Holdings
Cogent Communications Holdings provides cheap, fast Internet services. They recently announced third quarter 2016 results, seeing service revenue increase by 2.8 percent to $113.1 million, from the second quarter.
Shares of Cogent Communications Holdings fell at the start of the month but came back to register a gain of 5.37 percent over the five-day trading period, and ended the week at $41.20 per share.
Computer Task Group
Computer Task Group is an American company based in New York that provides IT staffing and solutions. Their 2016 third quarter results saw $78.1 million, reflecting a decline in revenue from $83.5 million in the second quarter and $93.1 million in the third quarter of 2015.
Shares of Computer Task Group gained 5.12 percent over the five-day trading period, and ended the week at $4.72 per share.
