Highland Copper Announces Extension of White Pine Acquisition Closing

Highland Copper Company has announced that it has reached an agreement with the Copper Range Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Quantum Minerals (TSX:FM) to extend the period to complete the acquisition of the White Pine project in Michigan to August 31, 2018.

Highland Copper Company (TSXV:HI) has announced that it has reached an agreement with the Copper Range Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Quantum Minerals (TSX:FM), to extend the period to complete the acquisition of the White Pine project in Michigan to August 31, 2018.

As quoted in the press release:

“The final closing of the acquisition is subject to releasing CRC from certain environmental obligations associated with the remediation and closure plan of the historical White Pine mine site in a manner that is acceptable to all parties involved, including applicable governmental authorities, and replacing the related environmental bond posted by CRC. The transfer of the environmental obligations to the company is subject to final approval of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.”
