How did ASX mining stocks perform against this backdrop?
Take a look at this week’s five best-performing Australian mining stocks below as the Investing News Network breaks down their operations and why these companies are up this week.
Stocks data for this article was retrieved using TradingView's stock screener and reflects price movements between the first trading day of the week and Thursday. Only companies trading on the ASX with market capitalisations greater than AU$10 million are included. Mineral companies within the non-energy minerals, energy minerals, process industry and producer manufacturing sectors were considered.
1. Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL)
Weekly gain: 66.67 percent
Market cap: AU$60.32 million
Share price: AU$0.125
Dalaroo Metals is an exploration company advancing its 80 percent owned Bondoukou Gold Ridge project in Côte d’Ivoire. The company also owns a portfolio of critical minerals assets in Greenland and Australia.
Bondoukou Gold Ridge is located in the Birimian Greenstone Belt, and hosts three primary target areas: Mag, Wilfred and Ali. Soil sampling has outlined a gold-anomalous corridor about 7 kilometres long covering the targets.
On Tuesday (October 6), Dalaroo announced results from the first two holes of its maiden drill program at Wilfred, which both intersected gold mineralisation. One highlighted interval returned 18 metres grading 7.31 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 63 metres, including 12 metres grading 8.66 g/t gold. It said the near-surface gold may be the weathered expression of deeper primary mineralisation, which further drilling will test.
The two holes are the first of 24 in an orientation phase that is part of a 102 hole, 12,000 metre program. Nine holes had been completed as of October 3, and results from the next two are expected in early November.
2.Berkeley Energia (ASX:BKY)
Weekly gain: 41.11 percent
Market cap: AU$290.09 million
Share price: AU$0.635
Berkeley Energia is an exploration and development company with projects in Western Spain.
Its flagship Salamanca uranium project in the province of Salamanca has been stalled since July 2021, when Spain’s Energy Ministry refused to approve it after a negative report from the country’s Nuclear Safety Council. The refusal was upheld on appeal in February 2023, and Berkeley took the dispute to international arbitration in April 2024, seeking compensation from Spain under the Energy Charter Treaty.
In a June 29 update, the company said the tribunal agreed to hear Spain’s jurisdictional objections first, before moving to the merits of the claim and damages. Berkeley is seeking US$1.25 billion in compensation.
Berkeley’s current focus is its Conchas critical minerals project, which covers 31 square kilometres in the southwest of Salamanca, near the border with Portugal.
On July 21, the company released a maiden inferred mineral resource estimate for Conchas reporting 11.8 million tonnes grading 0.41 percent lithium oxide and 0.21 percent rubidium oxide for contained mineral content of 49,000 tonnes of lithium oxide and 25,200 tonnes of rubidium oxide.
Berkeley said the resource shows that Conchas hosts a significant rubidium deposit, and noted that mineralisation starts at the surface and remains open at depth. It plans infill drilling to upgrade the resource.
The company has not released further updates on either project.
3. Global Gold Mining (ASX:GGM)
Weekly gain: 35.9 percent
Market cap: AU$63.84 million
Share price: AU$0.265
Global Gold Mining, formerly MetalsTech, is a gold exploration and development company advancing its Sturec gold mine in Central Slovakia.
Sturec is on the Kremnica mining licence, which covers about 9.5 square kilometres between the town of Kremnica and the village of Lucky.
An updated scoping study in December 2024 outlined project economics with a post-tax net present value of US$602 million and an internal rate of return of 135 percent. The included mineral resource estimate showed a combined measured, indicated and inferred resource of 68.35 million tonnes grading 1.22 g/t gold and 10.11 g/t silver with contained metal of 2.69 million ounces of gold and 22.21 million ounces of silver.
Global Gold’s most recent project update came on September 23, when the company released metallurgical test results showing gold recoveries up to 91.4 percent using a flotation process. Global Gold said the results will feed directly into the processing design for a prefeasibility study.
4. First Au (ASX:FAU)
Weekly gain: 28.12 percent
Market cap: AU$32.93 million
Share price: AU$0.205
First Au is a gold exploration company advancing projects in Western Australia.
Its recent focus has been on its Riverina East gold project in the state’s Eastern Goldfields. The project hosts the historic First Hit gold mine and consists of 16 licences, including two mining licences, covering a land package of approximately 340 square kilometres.
The company built on the asset on October 2, when First Au announced that it had agreed to acquire the Lady Jane gold project from Dynamic Metals (ASX:DYM). The project’s six exploration licences lie to the south of Riverina East. Under the terms of the deal, First Au will pay AU$50,000 up front, AU$100,000 upon closing and AU$500,000 deferred for one year from the deal’s completion.
First Au started this week with the completion of a 20 to 1 share consolidation Monday.
Then, on Wednesday, First Au announced it had started a maiden drill program at First Hit to test for extensions of the mineralisation at depth. The company said drilling is expected to be completed in about two weeks, with assays expected by the end of Q4. First Au plans to use results to prepare a maiden mineral resource estimate for First Hit.
5. D3 Energy (ASX:D3E)
Weekly gain: 22.45 percent
Market cap: AU$41.76 million
Share price: AU$0.300
D3 Energy is a helium and natural gas company advancing projects in South Africa and Australia.
The company's flagship asset is its 811 square kilometre ER315 project in South Africa’s Free State Province. In July 2025, the company released a maiden reserve certification for ER315, stating proven and probable methane reserves of 10.91 billion cubic feet and helium reserves of 706 million cubic feet.
On Tuesday, D3 reported that remedial activities restored gas flow at one of its two wells at Nooitgedacht, which lies outside of the reserve area within the ER315 permit, after deeper water zones had blocked flow.
A fresh gas sample returned 5.2 percent helium, which the company said reinforces the scale of the helium system across its project area. It is retesting the sample’s methane content of 49.7 percent, which the company described as anomalously low.
Then on Thursday D3 announced that its ER315 project and production right application area had been granted Strategic Integrated Project status under South Africa’s Infrastructure Development Act.
The company said the designation recognises the project’s potential contribution to the country’s energy security and could improve coordination with government departments and regulators, while raising its profile with investors, lenders and strategic partners.
