South African Gold Miners Demand Wage Hikes

Reuters reported that union gold miners in South Africa are demanding wages hikes, however, the industry’s tight budget agreements do not expire until mid-2013.

As quoted in the market news:

South Africa’s big gold miners Gold Fields, Harmony and AngloGold Ashanti negotiate collectively through the chamber for industry-wide wage agreements and the current 2-year deals will not expire until June, 2013.
