Gold Fields Gives 15,000 Striking Workers Ultimatium

Mining Weekly reported that Gold Fields (NYSE:GFI) has told 15,000 illegally striking workers to return to work on Tuesday, or face termination.

As quoted in the market report:

This followed the breakdown of talks between unions and the Chamber of Mines (CoM), leaving Gold Fields and fellow gold producers AngloGold Ashanti and Harmony to develop their own solutions to the widespread strike action.
