About the Lost Cities Project

As history states, there were 7 famous gold mining cities in Ecuador in the days of the Conquistadors, and while 5 have been rediscovered, two, Logroño de los Caballeros and Sevilla del Oro are still “lost.” The Lost Cities were home to famous gold mines in the 16th and 17th Century and extensive research indicates the Lost Cities may be located in Aurania’s project area.
