Gold futures for December delivery GCZ2 fell $10.20, or 0.6%, to settle at $1,602.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, its lowest price in a little over a week. Prices had traded modestly higher before the 8:30 a.m. Eastern
Stephen Platt, an analyst with Archer Financial Services in Chicago, commented:
There’s some follow-through to the downside especially as the U.S. dollar has showed some stability.
