According to the Weekly Dig from Haywood Securities, 12 companies announced equity raises of at least $500,000. It’s no surprise that gold miners made up the majority of the list, but companies from the uranium, copper, silver and lithium spaces are also on it.
After the recent wave of financings in the gold space, it might appear that things have quieted down a bit. However, some companies are still going strong with equity raises.
According to the Weekly Dig from Haywood Securities, a detailed, regular report that reviews happenings in the metals and mining spaces, 14 companies announced equity raises of at least $500,000 last week.
Gold bugs got some positive news on Thursday with the team at Thomson Reuters (TSX:TRI,NYSE:TRI) calling for gold to bottom this year in the GFMS Gold Survey 2014, and in that light, it’s no surprise that gold miners make up the majority of Haywood’s list. However, companies focused on uranium, copper, silver and lithium also announced equity financings last week.
Companies mentioned in the report include:
- Skyharbour Resources (TSXV:SYH) — C$500,000
- Alexandria Minerals (TSXV:AZX) — C$500,000 (closed)
- Southern Silver Exploration (TSXV:SSV) — C$1.6 million
- Kirkland Lake Gold (TSX:KGI) — C$30 million, increased from C$25 million
- Dalradian Resources (TSX:DNA) — C$11.3 million via mining financier Ross Beaty
- Aquila Resources (TSX:AQA) — C$4.3 million in a transaction with Orion Mine Finance, including a silver stream for total funding of US$20.75 million
- Alexander Nubia Interational (TSXV:AAN) — C$1.2 million
- Gold Standard Ventures (TSXV:GSV) — C$10 million
- Eco Oro Minerals (TSX:EOM) — C$3 million
- Western Lithium USA (TSX:WLC) — C$1.8 million (post-share rollback)
- Damara Gold (TSXV:DMR) — C$1.5 million
- Anfield Resources (TSXV:ARY) — C$700,000 (closed)
- Lateral Gold (TSXV:LTG) — C$500,000
While things remain tough in the junior space overall, and certainly not all of the raises mentioned have closed yet, it’s still encouraging to see some companies heading to the market and securing funding partners. Investors will no doubt be watching the junior space to see what these companies get up to in the near term.
