Bloomberg reported that according to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics, copper production surpassed demand by 69,100 metric tons in 2011.

Bloomberg reported that according to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), copper production surpassed demand by 69,100 metric tons in 2011.

As quoted in the market news:

There was a shortage of 175,000 tons in 2010, the Ware, England-based WBMS said in an e-mailed statement today.
