(TSXV:WGO) was featured in an article by Motherlode TV regarding their recent acquisition of Comstock Metals Ltd.’s (TSXV:CSL) QV gold project in the White Gold district in Yukon, Canada and their new Vertigo discovery. The article gave an overview of White Gold’s Chief Technical Advisor, Shawn Ryan, a famed Yukon prospector who staked and explored most of the Yukon’s Dawson Range before optioning those properties out. Many significant discoveries were made and whatever wasn’t acquired was reverted back to Ryan. His experience in the region and his large land package in the district gives White Gold a significant advantage over its peers.
“We started out with over 30 percent of the district and $25 million worth of free work because when the options expired all the data came back to Shawn,” said White Gold CEO David D’Onofrio. “We’ve seen three new gold deposits discovered in the district in recent times, two of which we have since been acquired and added to our portfolio totalling about 1.5 million ounces of gold.”
In a recent press release, White Gold announced the acquisition of Comstock’s QV gold project, which has a 230,000-ounce gold resource and offers significant exploration potential. The property is approximately 10 kilometers from White Gold’s flagship Golden Saddle deposit. However, the QV project holds many similarities to White Gold’s Vertigo discovery.
“At Golden Saddle we’ve seen consistent high-grade gold, but Vertigo is different,” said D’Onofrio. “We’re seeing high-grade grab samples up to 304 g/t and returning drill intercepts up to 22.47 g/t gold over 30.46 meters from surface along with excellent geophysical results over a full kilometer. To see these kinds of grades, at surface, two kilometres from an existing road is very promising – we’re seeing a huge ounce potential. On top of this, we’ve identified half a dozen other excellent targets along that trend that we’re excited to drill test.”
