Peru’s 2011 Gold Production Declining Slightly Despite 23% August Jump

As quoted in the market news:

Overall gold production from January to August of this year declined 2% from the 3,571,573 ounces (111,088,352 grams) reported during the same period of 2010 to 3,513,821 ounces (109,292,061 grams). The DPM revealed that domestic production of gold was 499,632 troy ounces or 15,540,303 grams fine in August 2011, up 23% from the 405,018 ounces or 12,597,484 grams reported for August 2010.
