Despite higher cash costs quarter on quarter, cash operating margins continued to be strong, with a margin of $US714 an ounce for the quarter. “The continued strength of the gold price subsequent to quarter end is expected to contribute to a continuation of this trend in the second (June) quarter,” the company said.
