When governments decide to shake up their standards and regulations, often times there is an aftermath period. In the case of Ecuador, it looks to have exited its own two year dormant period after changes in its mining laws increased local Ecuadorian input over the handling of national resources. The move which was enacted to stimulate work being done on mining claims and to reduce developmental stalemates caused by large international claim owners has opened up prospecting opportunities for some of the smaller cap companies to enter the fray.
