Local Miners Show Gold in Victoria

Sydney Morning Herald reported that the gold industry in Australia’s state of Victoria is still strong.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Castlemaine Goldfields produced its first bar at its Ballarat gold project this week and plans to produce 50,000 ounces a year. Octagonal Resources announced on Wednesday it would start mining an underground mine further east at Maldon after already committing to developing an open pitmine in the region.
