Copper prices on the LME gained 0.8 percent to hit $6,025 a tonne Tuesday, according to Reuters Africa. Prices grew in response to constrained supply as a result of mining disruptions in Chile and elsewhere, Investing.com reported. While this minor recovery may provide some hope for investors, the metal continues to struggle against weakening demand.

“But at the end of the day, if Chinese demand continues to disappoint, then nothing will be saved – even copper,” said Morgan Stanley analyst Joel Crane.

Prices of Comex copper for May delivery improved 1.04 percent to hit $2.75 a pound.
