The PureFunds ISE Cyber Security ETF (NYSEARCA:HACK) is purported to be one of the best ETF options for cybersecurity investors. The fund follows the ISE Cyber Security Index, which tracks companies that have some tie to the cybersecurity market.
Steve Morgan, founder and editor-in-chief of Cybersecurity Ventures, took a closer look at the ETF, to see which of its stocks are pure-play cybersecurity companies and which are broader tech names. According to his analysis:
The world’s first cybersecurity ETF, the PureFunds ISE Cyber Security ETF (HACK) was created to provide the market with a transparent vehicle to invest in the cyber security industry, according to New York City based PureFunds. ‘Pure’ seemingly comes from the catchphrase ‘pure-play’ which is used to describe companies with a single-minded focus on one market. A careful examination of the HACK’s holdings suggest that ‘mostly cyber’, or ‘some cyber’, are more accurate descriptions of the groundbreaking HACK ETF.
