White Gold CEO Discusses New Discovery on Betty Property in Yukon
White Gold Corp. (TSXV:WGO,OTC – Nasdaq Intl:WHGOF,FRA:29W) CEO David D’Onofrio was recently featured in an interview with MotherlodeTV where he discussed the recently announced discovery at the company’s Betty property.
White Gold Corp. (TSXV:WGO,OTC – Nasdaq Intl:WHGOF,FRA:29W) CEO David D’Onofrio was recently featured in an interview with MotherlodeTV where he discussed the recently announced discovery at the company’s Betty property. The Betty property sits within the company’s vast property portfolio in Yukon’s White Gold district and is located along the extension of the Coffee Creek fault.
In the interview, D’Onofrio addressed the importance of this discovery, which counts as the fourth gold discovery in the company’s 423,000-hectare land package. It is hosted in the same structural fault as Goldcorp’s (TSX:G,NYSE:GG) neighboring Coffee project and saw intersections of over 50 meters of gold mineralization. Results included 1.08 g/t gold over 50.29 meters from 4.57 meters of depth, including 2.24 g/t gold over 9.41 meters from 19.81 meters of depth. The easternmost hole in the area also returned 24.39 meters of 0.94 g/t gold from 19.81 meters of depth; including 10.67 meters of 1.26 g/t gold from 19.81 meters of depth. “These results and the gold mineralization found on other targets on the Betty this year have demonstrated that this is a very large gold system,” D’Onofrio stated.
He also addressed White Gold’s exploration strategy on the property, which was designed by world-renowned prospector, Shawn Ryan. The strategy begins with soil sampling, LiDAR surveying and bedrock probing, which then allows the company to strategically direct reverse circulation (RC) and rotary-air-blast (RAB) drilling. “This cost-effective approach preserves our cash, stretching exploration dollars further,” said D’Onofrio. “Shawn’s exploration methods have continued to prove successful this season and we are excited to complete further exploration on our Betty property.”
To close off the interview, D’Onofrio discussed the decision-making that went behind selecting the Betty property as a drilling target. He also described how the results from Betty compare to other deposits in the region. “The Coffee Creek fault runs directly through the Betty property, and our Betty Ford target is hosted within this fault structure, the same structural setting as Goldcorp’s Coffee deposit,” he said. “We believe with this very close proximity and the similarity in grades to the Coffee deposit which Goldcorp purchased in 2016 for $520M, and is scheduled to commence production in 2021 bringing with it significant supporting infrastructure, there will be some exciting finds in the near future as we continue to explore the extent of this mineralized system.”
