Bloomberg reported that the Rand has risen to its highest value in seven weeks as gold also reached an all-time high.
The market news is quoted as saying:
Gold rose as much as 1.2 percent to $1,444.95 an ounce, and oil climbed 2.4 percent to $106.95 a barrel as fighting increased between Libyan rebels and troops loyal to Muammar Qaddafi.
