Gold Prices Up on Fed Interest Rate Announcement

Reuters reported that gold prices reached a 6 1/2 week high as interest rates stayed low.

As quoted in the market news:

Spot gold was up 0.3 percent at $1,714.60 an ounce at 1212 GMT, while U.S. gold futures for February delivery were up $14.70 an ounce at $1,714.80.
