Barrick Gets Final Approval on Equinox Deal

Reuters Africa reported that Barrick Gold (NYSE:ABX) received Zambia’s approval to acquire Equinox (TSX:EQN).

The market news is quoted as saying:

Zambia has now removed a key stumbling block that required state miner Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holdings to keep a 2.2 percent stake in Equinox, as a condition of the approval for the deal.
