Coro Mining (TSX:COP) has reported that the Chilean National Authority of Geology and Mines has approved the Berta Sur mine pit phase 1 technical project – what it says is the equivalent to the official mining permit.

In a press release today (May 9) the company also revealed that its subsidiary Minera Coro Chile has acquired the remaining 35 percent of the SCM Berta operation, and now owns 100 percent of the operation.

As quoted in the press release, president and chief executive officer of Coro, Luis Tondo said:

“The process granting the Berta Mine technical permit took longer than anticipated and required working diligently to satisfy all the requirements of the Chilean authorities. I am pleased that this process is now behind us and look forward to concentrating more on the Marimaca project development (northern Chile), while the operations at SCM Berta operations stabilize.”
