St George: “Best Ever” Intercept of Nickel-Copper Sulfides at Investigators

    Scott Tibballs
    Oct. 25, 2018 09:01AM PST

The executive chairman of St George said drilling is continuing to scope out the scale of the discovery at Mt Alexander with drill hole MAD126 “another outstanding result” that has extended the footprint of high-grade mineralization.

St George Mining (ASX:SGQ) has announced what it said was an outstanding intersection of nickel-copper sulfides at the Investigators prospect within the Mt Alexander project, near Leonora in the north-eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Executive chairman of St George, John Prineas said:

“The intersection in MAD126 is shaping up as our best ever at the Investigators Prospect. This is a particularly exciting intercept as there are strong conductors located up-dip and down plunge of the massive sulfides identified by MAD126, giving us confidence that drilling will intersect more massive sulfides in what we believe may be a significant channelized flow. Our drilling is continuing to scope out the scale of the discovery at Mt Alexander with MAD126 another outstanding result that has extended the footprint of high-grade mineralization.”

As highlighted in the press release:

    • Massive sulfides include coarse grained pentlandite as evidenced by spot XRF readings ranging from 28 percent nickel to 37 percent nickel
    • Strong electromagnetic (EM) conductors located up dip and down plunge from MAD126 support potential for significant continuity of high-grade mineralization
    • St George’s 100-percent strike rate of high-grade nickel-copper sulfide conductors across the Cathedrals Belt continues
