Zondereinde Strike Continues Amid Interdict

Mining Weekly reported that the strike at Northam Platinum’s Zondereinde mine has continued despite the Labour Court’s issuance of an interdict to roughly 500 workers, which ruled that the work stoppage was unprotected.

As quoted in the market news:

The company further said in a statement that the dismissal of employees was a last resort and would follow management’s various appeals to the rock drill operators to resume their normal duties and to use the dispute resolution procedures available to them.
