In February, Anglo American Platinum CEO Neville Nicolau told Mining Weekly that a platinum price of more than $1 900/oz was required to provide producers with the incentive to invest the sub- stantial capital required to maintain long-term production. In February, the price level was in the $1 600/oz range.
