Mining Weekly reported Eastern Platinum (TSX:ELR,LSE:ELR) saw a 30% reduction in sales of platinum as production was negatively impacted by a strike in 2011.
As quoted in the market news:
As a result of a 29% decrease in run-of-mine ore processed during 2011, close to 93 000 oz of PGMs was sold, compared with the 131 901 oz the prior year. The drop in production was also partly attributed to a decrease in the recovery rate and head grade, the company commented.
