PRECIOUS METALS: Gold Up On Economy, Fed Expectations

The Wall St. Journal.com reports that precious metals prices are up driven by, among other things, expected announcements at the upcoming Fed meeting, and the new ETF precious metals basket-  ETFS Physical Precious Metal Basket Shares(NYSE:GLTR).

The story is quoted as saying:

The new ETFs that are just out are adding to physical demand, because as they gather assets they have to invest them into the metals,” said George Gero, vice president with RBC Capital Markets Global Futures.
