    Mining Weekly reported that the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League intends to propose nationalisation of several minerals, including magnesium, as a way towards economic independence.

    Mining Weekly reported that the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League intends to propose nationalisation of several minerals, including magnesium, as a way towards economic independence.

    As quoted in the market report:

    We will further call for the renationalisation of Sasol, ArcelorMittal and Kumba [Iron Ore] as strategic assets that should be under the stewardship of the state for the broader benefit of all South Africans,” said ANCYL head of communications Khusela Sangoni-Khawe.
