Copper prices were unchanged in London December 23. Three-month copper was trading flat at $7,238 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange, Reuters reported.

Near-term copper supplies are tight, but China’s liquidity problems are keeping investors cautious, the source said. The country’s short-term funding issues may impact China’s economic growth, The Wall Street Journal reported. China is the top copper consumer in the world, accounting for 40 percent of global demand.

Copper futures for March delivery on the Comex in New York fell slightly by $0.002 to $3.35 a pound, the WSJ reported.
