Reuters Africa reported that according to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics, global copper market was in a surplus of 343,400 tonnes from the period of January to October 2011.

As quoted in the market news:

World refined copper production rose to 16.29 million tonnes, up 2.0 per cent compared to the same months last year.
