Copper Volatile in Wednesday Trading

Bloomberg reported that copper was volatile in Wednesday trading, given momentum by concerns about a U.S. “fiscal cliff”.

As quoted in the market report:

President Barack Obama must reach agreement with Republican lawmakers who kept control of one chamber of Congress in last week’s election. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner said yesterday it was “deeply implausible” that Republicans would force the U.S., the world’s second-biggest copper consumer, over the cliff.
