Three-month copper prices on the London metal Exchange hit a month-high of $7,145 a tonne in London before settling back down to $7,130.

A rise of copper imports in China during November helped boost prices of the industrial metal today. Copper imports were up 7.1 percent last month in China, Reuters reported, and exports were also higher than forecasted.

Copper prices were also up on the Comex in New York. Futures for March delivery rose $0.65 to $3.26 a pound, The Wall Street Journal reported.
